The MEDICRAFT ANALGESIOMETER Mark IV
is an upgraded version of our simple most
ANALGESIOMETER Mark-I which is used as a basic instrument in the
Pharmacology Laboratories of Medical College, Pharmaceutical firms and
Bio-research centers for the study of analgesics.
The MEDICRAFT
ANALGESIOMETER - IV is an elementary standard that provides pain
stimulus in the tail of rat by radiation of heat from a heated nichrome
wire. The intensity of pain stimulus is
continuously variable from minimum to maximum and is monitored by a meter.
The heat producing wires are planted along with a specially designed
water jacket which also acts as retainer for rat’s tail and regulates
the surrounding side areas to room temperature The intensity control is a
solid state device and provides a constant heat at set point ignoring
the main line voltage fluctuation of
±10%
of 220V, A.C line at which the instrument works.
In addition to the above features, an
Electronic Digital Timer Display is provided to measure the response time
and a foot switch to start and stop the heating. The inbuilt
timer eliminate the need of stop watch thus
making free the hands of experimenter.
A Rectangular clear Plexiglas rat carrier
is provided as accessories. And one heating
element and one glass cartridge fuse are supplied as the spares.
