The Medicraft finger
tapping apparatus has been designed with the specifications provided by
Dr. M. M. Ali and Dr. Pramod Kumar of Deptt. Of
Nuerotoxocology, Industrial Toxicological Research Centre (I.T.R.C.),
Lucknow, a constituent lab of C.S.I.R.
The Medicraft Finger
tapping apparatus is helpful in the study of motor speed task performed
with a simple counter. The subject taps it with his/her thumb/finger as fast
as possible for a preset duration. The instrument is also used for measuring
the finger fatigue.
The Medicraft Finger
tapping apparatus is a microprocessor based apparatus designed to
provide repeat accuracy and minimise human error. The apparatus contains a
variable, down-counting timer which can be set from one to ninety nine
seconds. This sets the time duration in which the subject has to tap his/her
finger. The apparatus automatically stops counting as soon as the time is
over and subsequent finger taps are ignored. This brings in repeat
accuracy and minimise the human error in the conventional stopwatch method.
