The MEDICRAFT
CONTINUOUS AVOIDANCE RESPONSE (C.A.R.) APPARATUS is designed for
the study of operant behaviour of small animals. Simple in Operation, it
provides a convenient test procedure in which an animal under test has to
anticipate the time duration to avoid the punishment by pressing a lever.

APPARATUS consists of an
illuminated animal chamber with stainless wire grid floor, a lever (or
avoidance key) and the vertically sliding front door. The Control Panel
consists of the variable shock controls, the LED or LCD register the number
of shock stimulus avoided and stimulus delivered, through electronic
circuitry.
